The commitment to be always aligned with technological advances has led the Electoral Court to create six applications for the use during 2018 Elections. All gadgets are available to the voters not only in Android but also in iOS version and can be downloaded from both virtual stores.
Learn more about each of these gadgets below.
The app “JE Processos” allows the voter to follow the progress of legal proceedings that are been processed in the Electoral Justice in an easier and faster way. Besides voters in general, the app is often used by lawyers and journalists. Available in all the national territory since 2016, it is possible to use the search engine with the name of one party, with the name of the lawyer or with the process number. After filling in the the information, the application displays the up-to-date situation of the process, as well as its reporters, its origin, its parties and its lawyers. Decisions rendered in the searched judicial process can also be accessed.
Boletim na Mão
With this application, any citizen will be able to access, in a fast, safe and simplified way, the information contained on the electronic voting machine report (Boletim de Urna - BU), which are printed right after the closing of the voting and posted on bulletin boards on the election sections on Election Day.
The aggregation of the results of the election is the sum of the data of all BUs, of all the electoral sections of the country. The facilitated access to these documents allows the citizen to verify if the BU printed in his section corresponds to the received by the system of the aggregation of votes, giving wide transparency to the electoral process.
This is the application that the voter must download to track the calculation of the result after the closing of the voting, scheduled for 5:00 pm, October 7. By the cell phone or tablet, the voter can view in real time the number of votes given to each candidate.
Available for the first time in the 2014 Elections, it was, until now, the most downloaded app among all applications offered by the Electoral Justice. With this gadget, it is possible to monitor the election results all over the country and visualize the data from a nominal search perspective, which presents the number of votes summarized for each position with the indication of the elected candidates and the candidates who will face the second round. It displays percentage, blank votes, null votes, nominal votes and voters’ attendance.
Those who download this application will have a digital voter title. The e-Título informs the address of the polling station in a geo-referenced way and provides information on the electoral situation of the voter. In the case of voters who have already done the biometric re-registration and have their photo in the Electoral Justice database, the digital document can be used to identify the voter at the time of voting. The use of the application does not require presentation of the paper document.
The application is destined for an audience of approximately two million poll workers that will work in the 2018 Elections. It contains general instructions on the activity of the board members and has the main function of giving support to the citizen who will provide service on Election Day, simply and quickly. It aims at guiding and answering questions about the whole voting process, important dates of the electoral calendar that might be of the poll workers’ interest, gather advices and solutions, videos and an evaluation survey to be filled after the election.
Directed for the voter supervision of the campaign of candidates and parties, the app “Pardal” serves as a tool for forwarding complaints of electoral irregularities, as well as evidences that be used as proof in eventual judicial processes (photos, audios and videos). The citizen can also forward complaints on various topics, such as electoral propaganda, use of the public engine, vote buying, electoral crimes, electoral donations / expenses, among others.
The app was developed in 2012 by the Regional Electoral Court of the Espírito Santo (TRE-ES). In the 2014 elections, the application was also used experimentally by some states. Since the municipal elections of 2016, it has been adopted by the Electoral Justice all over the country. A novelty in the current version is the improvement of the system of sorting of the denunciations, in order to facilitate the verification done by the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs) and the Electoral Public Prosecution (MPE).
