The Superior Electoral Court received a European Union delegation on October 21. The delegation comprised representatives from the Presidency of the EU, its Directorate Generals of Trade, Agriculture, Research and Innovation and Protection of Human and Animal Health as well as from the European External Action Service.
Following an extensive agenda in the country on topics related to the relations between Brazil and the European Union, the delegation expressed interest in getting to know the Superior Electoral Court and become better familiarized with the Brazilian electoral system.
The delegation was received by the Advisor for International Affairs of the TSE, Tarcisio Costa, who recalled the visit made to Brussels in 2010 by Justice Carmen Lucia in the capacity of Vice President of the TSE, when a Letter of intentions was signed by the Court and the European Commission.
Costa presented an overview of the structure and roles of the TSE, as well as of the international activities developed by the Court. Afterwards the visitors watched a demonstration of the country's electronic voting machine.
